Privacy Policy

Information Notiker collects

Notiker's developer does not collect, sell, or rent personal data through the app. Notiker has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, behavioral tracking, or telemetry. There is no Notiker cloud service receiving your notes. The optional, user-directed AI transmissions described below go to the selected third-party provider rather than to Notiker's developer.

Optional AI assistant

AI features are optional and use developer APIs operated by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, or Moonshot AI/Kimi. Before an explicit request, Notiker shows the selected scope and an expandable preview of the exact note context it will send. Whole-library scope and automatic completion are disabled until you enable them.

• The selected provider receives the approved context, your prompt, and standard network information. Its processing, retention, billing, and account practices are governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
• When you select OpenRouter, OpenRouter receives the request and routes it to the model operator you selected. Both OpenRouter and that routed operator may process the approved context according to their respective terms and your OpenRouter routing settings.
• Your API key is kept only in memory for the current app session. It is not written to preferences, localStorage, IndexedDB, backups, vault files, or Notiker logs.
• The app connects directly to a fixed endpoint for the provider you select. Requests do not pass through a server operated by Notiker's developer.
• “Copy & open” copies the visible prompt and context to your clipboard and opens the selected provider. Opening the site does not submit the copied text; you decide whether to paste and send it.

Consumer ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Kimi, or OpenRouter chat access does not automatically include developer API usage or credits. Review the selected provider's API billing, routing, and privacy terms.

Where your notes are stored

• The local library and preferences are stored in the Notiker app's local data on your device. The public website at notiker.com does not contain a Notiker workspace and does not store notes.
• Notiker itself sends no notes or app-local data to servers operated by its developer. OS-level device backups may include app-local data according to your platform and backup settings.

Mounted Obsidian vaults on desktop

A vault is accessed only after you choose its folder. Notiker reads Markdown notes in that folder and writes note changes you initiate directly back to those Markdown files. A rebuildable local cache supports the interface and search.

Vault content is not uploaded unless you explicitly include it in the visible context of an optional AI request. Notiker does not write inside the vault's .obsidian folder. Disconnecting or uninstalling Notiker does not delete the original vault.

External links

When you choose to open a link, packaged apps send it to the device's system browser. Notiker does not attach your note content to an ordinary external-link request. Optional AI requests are the separate, explicit exception described above. Destinations may receive standard network information and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Backups, exports, and restores

Backup, Markdown export, and restore actions are initiated by you and processed locally. Notiker does not upload selected or generated files. You choose where exported files are stored and whether they are shared.

Notiker backup and Markdown export files are not encrypted by Notiker. Protect them with the storage, device, and sharing controls appropriate for their contents.

Deletion and uninstalling

• Moving a local note to Trash keeps it locally until you delete it permanently.
• Permanently deleting a note or restoring the sample library removes the replaced local records from Notiker's application database.
• Uninstall behavior depends on the operating system and may leave application data. Exported files, mounted vaults, device backups, and system backups are not removed by uninstalling.

Device security

Local-only storage is not the same as encrypted storage. Access to your notes depends on your device account, filesystem permissions, and any encryption or backup protections you enable on the device.

Policy changes

If Notiker's data practices change, this page will be updated before the new practices take effect, with a revised effective date.
